With an EN-1433 Load capacity, Corten Steel Grates will protect trees and ensure safety in any public space. In addition, an optional Galvanized Steel Frame prevents strain and damage to roots and is recommended, especially in high-footfall areas.

Fabricated in the Netherlands from sturdy 10 mm Corten Steel with an aesthetically pleasing choice of patterns, the tree grates allow water and oxygen to reach the roots easily. In addition, Corten Steel Tree Guards, sold separately, are available for the 149cm and 180cm Tree Grates.

Stood alone or combined with other Corten Steel Products like planters, panels, edging, and walls, the look will enhance even the grandest designs.

Installation

Create a solid reinforced concrete base (see information sheet). If not done carefully, it can create stress in the product that could damage it.

Place the two-piece frame and bolt with the supplied materials, loosely tightening all bolts. Tighten them before filling the frame with a load-bearing split.

Place the four tree grate corners on the frame, so the holes match. Install all bolts loosely first, and then tighten them.

Finish the pavement laying slightly higher than the tree grate for ideal drainage around the tree.

Corten Steel Maintenance

Corten Steel, also known as weather-resistant steel, is a steel alloy made of iron that has copper, silicon, nickel, and chromium added that is low-maintenance, weatherproof and durable. We do not recommend using Corten steel within a radius of 2 km from the coast. The Corten Steel will arrive not fully weathered, so be aware, as the Corten Steel weathers runoff may occur. We recommend the application of 'Owatoral' varnish once the Corten Steel has weathered; this will stop the product from rusting any further. 'Owatoral' varnish is available in 0.5Ltr and 5Ltr tins online.

We will deliver your order using the fastest, safest, and most reliable method possible. Our delivery methods are listed on the product page as well as throughout the checkout process.

Riverhill Garden Supplies will select the appropriate dispatch method when you order based on your location and the product(s) that you have ordered.

Dispatch Methods

Parcel Delivery

Smaller products are delivered by parcel couriers, such as TNT and Parcelforce. Upon dispatch, we will notify you via email with the estimated day of delivery and forward you a tracking number.

Pallet Delivery

Larger products will be delivered by our own dedicated delivery drivers or by specialist carriers such as Palletways and ILS who will be given your contact details and instructed to book in delivery with you once your order reaches your local delivery depot.

Shipping Costs

We charge a flat rate of £20.00 for delivery to England, Wales and Central Scotland.

We charge a flat rate of £50.00 for delivery to England, Wales and Central Scotland if your order includes an ADEZZ product.

We are not able to offer a flat rate of £20.00 for delivery to East Central Scotland, North and North East Scotland, West Scotland, Norther Ireland, ROI, Skye, Orkney Isles, Outer Hebrides, Shetland Isles, Inner Hebrides, Isle of White, Isle of Man and the Channel Isles and a surcharge will apply. What if My Order Arrives Damaged?

Our goal is to make buying online with Southern Planters Ltd easy, safe and efficient. Although extremely rare items can arrive damaged and we are conscious of this, so it is important that you read the following.

Upon delivery, please carry out the following steps

• Remove the goods completely from their packaging
• Closely inspect the goods for damages or shortfalls
• Sign for the goods, accordingly, noting damages/shortfalls and refuse the goods
• Notify Southern Planters Ltd of any damages/shortfalls within 24 hours by telephoning the office on t 01732 522471. The office is open 7 days a week, from 8am to 10pm including Bank Holidays except Christmas Day. Providing that you have signed for the goods as damaged and refused the goods we will repeat and dispatch your order again or arrange a full refund

The courier is obliged to wait 15 minutes for you to carry out these checks if need be. No claim will be accepted if a clean signature is given. Any claim for damages/shortfall must be made within 24 hours.
